2322 Mens Shed Inc

We started as a Steering Committee in November 2008 for we identified a need for a Men's Shed in our community. We were allocated a temporary workspace at the ex-Beresfield Tennis Clubhouse in February 2011 by the Newcastle City Council which we still occupy. We are attempting to get land where we can erect a Shed and have a permanent home.  We are mainly involved in local community projects for schools, organisations and people in the community that don't have the finances to pay commercial operators.  Some of our projects include:- Mentoring - Workshop experience for Francis Greenway High School boys. Chicken coop for Woodberry Primary School. Respite care for Beresfield Community Care blokes. Cat Run. Cupboard for Bowlers at the Beresfield Bowling Club. Display Stand for Beresfield Primary School. Quilting Stand. Bird Aviary. Awning over wheelchair access ramp. We also make woodwork items for sale at local events. These include: Wood-turned biros, toilet roll holders, tissue holders, toys, garlic bread holders, kitchen tidies and towel racks.

Activities include Our monthly meetings are held on the last Monday of each month, preceded by a BBQ. Generally very popular and with a full stomach the meeting flows smoothly.
