Dingley Village Men's Shed Inc

The Dingley Village Men’s Shed (DVMS) was established in Oct 2012 with a public meeting drawing over 50 men. From this meeting, a steering group was set up and we began operating as a sub-committee under the governance of the Dingley Village Neighbourhood Centre. In early October 2013 the members began operating each Friday at our home at Braeside Park, 470 Lower Dandenong Road, Braeside. There are two sheds that the members have renovated.  The larger of the two sheds is the workshop and is fully operational, with a range of activities for our members to participate in. We have received a Strengthening Men's Shed Program grant of $60,000 which was used to remodel and set up the smaller shed as our amenities shed. This area is used for socialising and non workshop based activities.  During 2017 the amenities building was extended to almost double its original capacity to accommodate the ever-increasing membership. In May 2018 the Dingley Village Men’s Shed became an incorporated entity and now operates as a completely autonomous establishment, referred to as the Dingley Village Men’s Shed Incorporated and with its own Committee of Management. Our amenities area  has a full kitchen, accessible toilets. It also houses our art, photography and computer area and admin office. Our membership continues to grow and the group has been very actively engaged in woodwork, bike repairs for charities and metalwork. Tours and visits to premises such as radio stations, car makers, etc have been undertaken and will continue into the future.   Enquiries are welcome.
