The tradition of the Shed is that the combined skills of its members can come to the aid of any member of the community, and any associated donations help it to continue as a community resource.

But, the primary purpose is social. There are clear health issues associated with isolation, and our Shed is a great solution. Socialising becomes easier if one is involved in a joint project or repair or hobby. as has long been known by, for example, the C.W.A. Of course there are women who want to do a bit of carpentry, or learn about it, or learn about welding, for quite practical reasons. And, of course, there is the social aspect of group activity. Dorrigo is fast becoming the Cafe town of the Waterfall Way, and is already listed as an "Arts Town". Informality and commonsense are typical Dorrigo, and it turns out that it is mostly men who come on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and our women members mostly on Fridays. when there are classes in wood work. And we often open on Wednesday,too.

Activities include Wood and metal work: Members' projects, Community projects, regular "Garage Sales" on Dorrigo Community Market days, Coffee and Cameraderie.
