Grawin-Glengarry Sheepyards Opal Fields Mens Shed Inc

Grawin Glengarry Sheepyard Opal Fields Mens Shed is a small community west of Lightning Ridge & Nor west of Walgett.It is a small permanent population of folk who reside here all year.An increase of numbers happen round about Easter time and stays till October early November.It is like a working retirement village with most working opal mines .Heat sends the southerners home!
From start-up in 2011 at Glengarry ,then a move to Grawin in 2014 ,this Shed has grown in active members and great working areas with a play area too .Many have come and gone ,one out two in ,constant changing thru generally health and ageing.Women are accepted with open arms -cos they bring in the yummy foods ! many have learnt a craft or two ,and visitors from afar come back often and join up or make generous donations .Health issues are many . Open discussions and information have helped many ,as mediacl assistance is far away for us all .A cup of tea cures lots of woes and misery -it's all about communication.
All visitors are welcome -free camping providing one has shower facility or willing to swim with the yabbies in the dam!

Activities include woodwork, metal work, opal lapiadry,community assistance.
