Mapleton Men's Shed Inc

The Mapleton Men’s Shed is a community organisation focused on enhancing the physical and mental well-being of its members through the provision of a suitable site with the necessary facilities and tools which enable members to socialise and engage in meaningful and productive activities. These activities, inevitably, create and reinforce a supportive network of social relationships among participating Men’s Shedders. This ethos is inspired by the Australian Men’s Shed Association of which the Mapleton Shed is a member.

Activities:
Currently, shed members are involved with a number of activities.
The Drop-in Centre in the old Barracks room is open for members and other blokes from 9.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please, drop in and have a cuppa and a chat.
The Shed’s workshop is open regularly from 8.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It is, however, often open at other times. So, if you feel like tinkering, a quick phone call could easily provide access.

On the third Tuesday of each month, we have a Luncheon for members and their guests. Our in-house chef prepares both traditional and contemporary cuisine. Each month a different guest speaker presents important information on life issues and bookings are essential.
Shed members also regularly volunteer to help around the shed, assist other local community organisations and, further afield, work with Blaze Aid to lend a hand to more isolated rural communities.
