Ridley Road Community Men's Shed

The Ridley Road Community Men's Shed is a cluster of Sheds nestled in the grounds of the Anglican Church Ridley Road. Although in Church grounds, we operate as a
separate identity to the Church under the Charter of The Australia Men's Shed, We acknowledge their generosity in allowing the Shed this privilege.
We provide a safe friendly environment for Men to gainfully occupy their time in the company of others while still feeling they are contributing to the Community. These
Men are often depressed by loss of employment, change of living location and the loss of a loved one. They welcome the chance the Shed gives them. We depend on
our community service to provide meaningful work for the members while servicing these needs of the elderly
With three Sheds fully equipped, we are able to offer Men the opportunity to become active members by partaking in what the Shed offers. We are predominantly a
woodworking Shed specialising in the creation of small items ranging from toys to an assortment of kitchen and garden pieces. Repairs and restorations are never ending while some are a challenge to the ingenuity and skill of the Men.
Our members range from very skilled craftsmen to self trained hobbyists and those prepared to learn from others to be part of the working team. Training is provided on the equipment and safety measures enforced for the protection of all.
Some come to the Shed for companionship. These are our Monday Mates, spending their time chatting over a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit. Guest Speakers are a regular feature and their talks are well received. Often Members make their own presentation. There is absolutely no pressure put on members.
The Shed is a charitable organisation and its funding is derived from the small charge to cover materials, donations of tools and materials, Various Grants applied for and by donations given by those who appreciate the value of the Shed .A membership fee applies which covers the essentials needed to run the Shed.
