Grafton U3A

Grafton U3A, established and incorporated in October 2002, is part of the international University of the Third Age movement conceived in France in 1972. The organisation facilitates learning among retired and semi-retired people in the Grafton area through the sharing of knowledge, skills and experiences in a friendly, supportive way. Members contribute in many different ways to the success of the group.

A range of courses and interest groups are conducted weekly, fortnightly or monthly during daylight hours. The U3A publishes a monthly newsletter called the Jabber Journal, providing news and updates on courses, social activities, guest speakers at monthly meetings, and articles of interest to members. The organisation also hosts a Men's Shed celebrating two decades of operation.

Grafton U3A operates on the principle that learning and intellectual engagement are valuable throughout life, creating a welcoming community for retired people to remain active through shared learning and social connection.
