Shellharbour City U3A

Shellharbour City U3A, established in 2003, is a volunteer not-for-profit organisation focused on sharing knowledge, skills and interests within the community. The U3A philosophy emphasises lifelong learning and the benefits of continued intellectual engagement for retired members. The organisation operates on the principle that learning together enhances wellbeing and social connection.

The U3A offers diverse courses and activities with participation throughout the year, though some courses continue during school holiday periods. Social events such as Christmas in July celebrations create opportunities for members to gather and enjoy entertainment and fellowship together. The organisation also holds an Annual General Meeting where members participate in governance and planning for future activities.

Shellharbour City U3A welcomes members to participate in course leadership and committee roles, recognising that shared responsibility strengthens the community. The organisation creates spaces where retired and semi-retired people can remain mentally and socially active while pursuing learning interests.
