U3A Tweed Coast is part of the worldwide University of the Third Age movement, offering learning and social engagement for people no longer in full-time employment. The organisation provides a diverse range of classes and interest groups, with high demand leading to many classes reaching capacity and developing waitlists. Members have the option to join waitlists for full classes or contact group leaders to discuss alternative arrangements.
The U3A emphasises volunteering and welcomes members to share their hobbies and passions by becoming group leaders. Courses cover diverse subjects and interests, with the flexibility for members to pursue multiple activities. Social clubs and member events provide additional opportunities for connection and shared experience beyond formal classes.
