Yeppoon Men's Shed

The Yeppoon Men’s Shed has been operating since the end of January 2014 and is now fully operational from the PCYC Youth Development Centre on Matthews Flinders Drive, next to the Cooee Bay Sports Complex. We are affiliated with the Australian Men’s Shed Association and as such are open for all members of the community to join us.

The shed owes its existence to the dedication and hard work of the Yeppoon Rotary Club, Yeppoon Anglican Parish and the Police Citizens Youth Club and the shed steering committee consisting of members of these associations and other members of the community.

We have a well-equipped workshop and are capable of undertaking a large range of projects in wood and metal in a relaxing and friendly environment. The members undertake projects for their own personal satisfaction and wellbeing and also community based projects for other non for profit organisations or you can come for a chat and simply watch and enjoy the surroundings and participate in long morning teas.

We have members from all walks of life who come together for the purpose of friendship, to learn new skills, assist with community projects and work towards a common cause to assist in the wellbeing of our fellow members.

We are open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8.00am to 1.00pm. The members can stay for the full open time or for a short visit.

You can come and visit us a few times, with no obligations attached, to see what a shed is all about and if you feel it is an outlet you could enjoy. If you decide to join, there is a very affordable membership fee to cover the cost of insurance and a gold coin donation each day for morning tea.

Activities include The members undertake a range of projects for non for profit community organisations in wood and metal. They undertake own design projects for themselves and family members and work on hobby interest projects. If you do not know how to operate any of our machines or equipment there is always someone there who can help and advise you on the correct and safe way to operate it. Some also simply come for companionship and talk and watch other members undertaking projects and engage in long morning teas.
