U3A Bermagui and District

U3A Bermagui and District has grown from a small beginning in Beauty Point in 2009 with fewer than 50 members to an energetic organisation serving more than 280 members. The organisation offers over 75 classes annually, drawing members from Bermagui and surrounding towns of Cobargo, Quaama and Tilba, plus neighbouring Narooma and nearby villages. The U3A welcomes both permanent residents and holiday visitors interested in learning.

The University of the Third Age is a worldwide movement where people in their third age teach and learn from one another, drawing on knowledge and skills developed during working life. The U3A provides learning opportunities in a relaxed, inclusive community environment. Leaders provide their time without charge, and learning focuses on enjoyment and knowledge sharing rather than formal qualifications.

U3A Bermagui operates as an incorporated association with a volunteer management committee meeting monthly. The organisation emphasises accessibility and community building, creating opportunities for older people to remain intellectually engaged while developing new skills and forming meaningful friendships.
