Mudgee District U3A

Mudgee District U3A operates on the principle of lifelong learning for people in their third age, drawing on the philosophies of the U3A movement worldwide. Courses span visual arts including coloured pencils and paper folding, literature with crime fiction and creative writing, and community topics like bushfires and health support. All facilitators are volunteers who share their knowledge and passion.

The organisation runs on a term basis aligned with school holidays, allowing members breaks between terms if desired. Courses are held at various venues in the Mudgee District, with a committee of volunteers managing administration. The U3A emphasises peer learning and knowledge sharing among members of all experience levels.

Mudgee itself holds significant Aboriginal cultural heritage as traditional land of the Wiradjuri Nation. The U3A operates as a non-political, non-sectarian organisation welcoming all people interested in continued learning and community connection.
